At the same time, on August 11, the infection rate was found to be 17.83 percent, and on August 16, it went down to 19.20 percent. But gradually it started decreasing and on Thursday the number of new patients was 702 and the infection rate was found to be 4.49 percent below 5 percent.

Epidemic became common disease

Covid expert Dr Jugal Kishore said that now the epidemic is about to end and now it has become a common disease. So these kinds of small ups and downs will keep happening. It will depend on three reasons. First, there has been some kind of change in the variant of the virus, how the immunity, behavior and environment of the person helps the virus to spread. What is being seen right now, especially in Delhi, there is a slight variation in the variants, so the infection is confined to the local level, this is common. Whenever there is a minor variation, this type of situation will arise.

The pandemic is nearing its end in the country

He said that this virus is on the endemic side across the country. If we stop taking the test, then this number will come down even more, because the cold is affecting till the cold and people are recovering in 2 to 3 days. The second reason for its spread is human immunity. If a person has had a long time of immunity created from a natural infection, it has been more than six months for two doses of another vaccine and has not taken a booster dose. If people have given up the habit of wearing masks, have started going to the crowd and forgetting to improve the balance diet and lifestyle started during the Covid period, then the risk of infection will definitely increase. But even after this, the effect of infection is not being seen much. But the already sick and elderly always need to be alert.

Only 18 patients in LNJP

LNJP Hospital’s medical superintendent, Dr Suresh Kumar, said that now they have only 18 patients, as against 75 a few days ago. He said the numbers have come down. At present only two patients are on ventilator. He said that a few days ago, the average daily infection rate was more than 15 percent, so the admission had also increased. But now this rate has come down to less than 5 percent, so the admission has reduced. He said that the faster the number increased, the faster it decreased. Corona is currently under control in Delhi. Not only corona, but there is only one patient of monkeypox. Now hand, foot and mouth diseases are also less than before.
