PATNA: The Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti is the first organization of this type in the country which has started to give “maintenance aid” of Rs 500 for the next 3 years to 582 children, orphaned during the second wave of the pandemic of Covid in Bihar.

Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti chief boss Sushil Kumar Modi, speaking to the media on Tuesday, said: “In accordance with a decision taken earlier by the committee, each of the 582 children, orphaned by the Covid-19, will receive 500 Rs per month. for the next 3 years as maintenance support “.

Modi said that Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti in Bihar is the first such social organization in the country, which initiated such assistance for the maintenance of children, orphans after the death of one of their parents due to the crown. .

A total of 850 children can be helped through this initiative. In Bihar, a total of 9,606 people lost their lives during the first and second waves of the Corona pandemic. According to the official figure, 1,624 children have been orphaned due to the death of one of the parents. The number of children who have lost their fathers to Covid-19 is 1,286, while the total number of children who have lost their mothers to Corona is 302.

“There are only 36 children in Bihar whose parents both died from corona,” Modi said.
