Law360 (July 28, 2021, 2:10 p.m. EDT) – Anchorage Digital, the first cryptocurrency bank to receive federal charter approval, has been awarded a contract to manage seized and confiscated digital assets for the US Marshals Service, the company announced on Wednesday.
As part of the roughly $ 6 million deal, California-based Anchorage will be responsible for the custody and secure storage of the cryptocurrency impounded by the Marshals Service. Anchorage will also provide a “full range” of related services, including disposal of cryptocurrency confiscated through exchange or sale on government instruction.
