SIOUX CITY – The Siouxland Chamber of Commerce hosted a cryptocurrency summit on Monday that included a panel discussion led by a former Disney child actor turned cryptocurrency entrepreneur.

Now 40, Pierce is considered a national authority in the cryptocurrency and Bitcoin industry.
“People have questions about Bitcoin,” Pierce said of the decentralized digital currency which was first introduced in 2008. “It’s easier to think of it as digital gold rather than currency. digital. It is secure, highly efficient in transactions and limited in quantity, with only 21 million bitcoins worldwide. “
Although he said Bitcoin is the most democratic form of investing, Pierce admitted that it can also be volatile. For example, he doesn’t recommend small investors invest more than $ 100 in Bitcoin at a time.
