Many in the mainstream financial space, government and academia have long dismissed Bitcoin as a silly toy for criminals and predicted that its price will go to zero. These predictions remain common in the mainstream media to this day, despite the network’s amazing growth and the currency surpassing $ 30,000 and making inroads into the global economy. Reading a recent example of these crypto dismissal articles by an Australian professor, titled “Dummies Guide To Crypto,” Aleks Svetski – CEO of the Amber DCA Bitcoin app and contributor to Bitcoin Magazine – felt that he had to answer.
Svetski agrees with the author of “Dummy’s Guide” that “crypto” is garbage and that there is very little substance in the general “crypto” market. Aleks however disagrees that these assumptions are also true for Bitcoin. The reality is that Bitcoin is a very well thought out solution to a very important problem plaguing mankind. Aleks’ response to “Dummy’s Guide” is “The Smart Guide to Bitcoin”. In the article, Svetski explained what Bitcoin is, whether people should invest in it, mining and energy factors, and its downsides.
“Bitcoin Magazine Podcast” host Christian Keroles sat down with Svetski to discuss the article’s key points and debate how best to convey them to people who think Bitcoin is just a toy. idiot.
