An incredible start to the weekend saw Ripple’s XRP cryptocurrency gain 30 cents in value from Friday to Monday morning.

Despite a small dip in the past 24 hours, at the time of writing (7am UK) XRP is worth $ 1.30, only returning to the $ 1 benchmark on Friday morning.

The coin, which has been delisted by some exchanges in recent months following its legal battle with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), rose 65% in seven days.

The Proof-of-Stake Cardano blockchain platform continued to perform, reaching $ 2.16 to bring its seven-day increase to 53%.

Cardano sees itself as an updated version of Ethereum and allows developers to build decentralized applications (dApps).

Market leader Bitcoin (BTC) hit $ 47,500 after adding nearly $ 2,000 over the weekend. It increased 9% in one week.

Binance Coin (BNB) is at $ 423 after gaining $ 29 since Friday morning. It gained a quarter of its value in a week.

Ethereum (ETH), the world’s second most valuable crypto, closes at $ 3,300, $ 200 higher than Friday. It is 12% higher than its price seven days ago.

Meme Dogecoin coin (DOGE) is also on the move, sitting at 34c and is up 41% in one week.

Chiliz (CHZ) retained value after rapid gains following the sensational transfer of football superstar Lionel Messi from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain and the announcement that part of his salary will go to Paris Saint -Germain Fan Token (PSG).

The blockchain company operates the Socios sports token platform on which PSG fan tokens are issued. CHZ is 38c, a cent more than Friday and 30% more in a week.

As for PSG, it has fallen to $ 37 – $ 5 more than its price before the news broke, but $ 10 below its peak.

The cryptocurrency market is now collectively worth $ 2 trillion, with the nearly 11,300 coins having gained 2.5% in value in the past 24 hours.
