Why Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and Other Cryptocurrencies Raised Over the Weekend

Cryptocurrencies topped $ 2 trillion over the weekend of August 13 for the first time since May.

Bitcoin, which accounts for more than half of the entire crypto market cap, was largely responsible for the rise.

Bitcoin rose by over $ 48,000 per coin over the weekend. However, the price of other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Cardano, Ripple, and Dogecoin has also increased.

Dogecoin Millionaire Glauber Contessoto also took to Twitter (TWTR) – Get Report to share his excitement.

“Good night to all my fellow Dogecoin holders. We had a hell of a weekend with doge and this is just the start!” He tweeted on Sunday evening.

Dogecoin has lost significant value since it hit around 70 cents per coin in May. Currently, the price of Dogecoin hovers around 33 cents per coin.

Interestingly, the rise in cryptocurrencies over the weekend also coincided with a job posting from Walmart (WMT) – Get Report.

On Sunday, the retail giant posted an ad for the “Digital Currency & Product Lead” position.

“As an expert in digital currency / cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies, you will lead the vision of the product and capability roadmap. You will provide leadership to identify technology and customer trends and the investments required to capitalize on these trends, ”the publication read work.

In July, the price of Bitcoin surged when Amazon (AMZN) – Get Report also posted a job posting for “Digital Currency & Blockchain Product Lead”.
