Cryptocurrency prices continued to plunge today with Bitcoin trading below the $ 46,000 level. Bitcoin prices fell more than 2% to $ 45,114, according to CoinDesk. Bitcoin, the world’s largest and best-known cryptocurrency, has grown by over 54% this year (year to date).
Ether, the coin linked to the ethereum blockchain and the second largest crypto, was also trading at 4% cuts to $ 3,038. Dogecoin, on the other hand, plunged nearly 10% to $ 0.29. Other digital coins like Stellar, Uniswap, XRP, Litecoin, Cardano also fell in the last 24 hours.
Investment products in digital assets saw a sixth straight week of exits, bringing total redemptions to $ 115 million in the six-week period, the longest streak of losses since January 2018, according to a report from digital asset manager CoinShares.
Investors withdrew a net $ 22.1 million from cryptocurrency funds last week, even as bitcoin rose from a low of $ 42,924 to a high of $ 47,831. Funds based on the world’s largest cryptocurrency had the largest outflows at $ 22 million, followed by 1.1 million ether outflows, according to the data.
Sentiment appears to be recovering in the global crypto market, according to the digital asset manager, judging by recent price hikes, which have pushed total investment products assets under management (AUM) to 55 billion. dollars, up 10% on weekdays.
CoinShares, which is the world’s second-largest digital asset manager with approximately $ 4.5 billion in assets under management, reported outflows of around $ 16 million during the week. Grayscale, the world’s largest digital asset manager, posted inflows of around $ 0.3 million.
