Ethereum scaling solution to retain Arbitrum is expected to launch later this month. 73 projects are ready to be deployed, offering a complete ecosystem from the start. As more scaling solutions come online, the business is expected to move away from the Ethereum mainnet. Share this article
The Arbitrum team has launched the Arbitrum One portal, showcasing the portfolios, apps and tools available to use after the scaling solution has been scaled to the public later this month. To date, 73 projects are ready to be deployed, with a multitude of DeFi “blue chips” as well as many protocols in the making.
The arbitration ecosystem
Arbitrum is slated for an explosive launch later this month.
Ethereum’s highly anticipated Layer Two scaling solution will launch with the integration of 73 projects, including many of the biggest names in the Ethereum network. Users can see which projects are ready for deployment by visiting the Arbitrum One portal, released on August 11.

The Arbitrum One portal has listed many DeFi blue chips, including Aave, Balancer and Curve, as well as major decentralized exchanges such as Uniswap and SushiSwap. By integrating so many established protocols at launch, Arbitrum will have access to large amounts of liquidity, which will kick off its DeFi ecosystem. Users will also have access to a range of options for storing their funds on Arbitrum, with Metamask, Coinbase Wallet, and Math Wallet all enabled for integration.
Along with the big players, upcoming DeFi projects such as DODO are also optimistic about Arbitrum’s approach to evolving Ethereum, prioritizing the development of the protocol. DODO CEO Lei Mingda commented on his experience integrating DODO into Arbitrum, telling Crypto Briefing that layer two “is working even better than expected.”
With so many DeFi opportunities, users will be able to provide liquidity, trading derivatives, and a yield farm, while still taking advantage of Arbitrum’s low-cost, high-speed trading. The final piece to complete the Arbitrum ecosystem is its integration with the Hop protocol, enabling instant transfer of funds to Ethereum and other Layer two protocols.
Arbitrum launched for developers at the end of May, allowing interested projects to begin equipping their applications for compatibility with Arbitrum’s optimistic rollups. Although Arbitrum took a long time to deploy the protocol to end users, the team explained in a blog post that they wanted as many applications as possible to be ready to deploy to create a fair launch and equal, by declaring:
“To facilitate a fair launch and a robust ecosystem from the start, we will first open Arbitrum for developers, so that projects joining the initial cohort have time to set up the infrastructure and test.”
Arbitrum’s main competitor, Optimism, takes a different approach, opening up an alpha version of the protocol to end users when onboarding projects. This method has sparked controversy over the priority given to certain projects for onboarding. SushiSwap CTO Joseph Delong recently accused Optimism of giving Uniswap preferential treatment due to the influence of venture capitalists. Optimism denies any preferential treatment, saying its reluctance to integrate SushiSwap was due to its commitment to building a secure system through rigorous testing.
Arbitrum and Optimism are both part of a larger effort to scale Ethereum, increasing transactions per second and lowering gasoline costs. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has frequently said that various scaling technologies, such as optimistic stacking, are likely to host majority network activity in the short to medium term.
