After a limited start to the day, Bitcoin fell to an intraday low of $ 48,219.0 in the late morning before taking a step.
Away from the first major support level at $ 47,518, Bitcoin hit an intraday high of $ 49,788.0 late in the afternoon.
However, below the first major resistance level at $ 50,271, Bitcoin fell back below $ 49,000 and into the red.
The short-term uptrend remained intact, supported by the latest return to levels of $ 49,000. For bears, Bitcoin would need a sustained decline through 62% FIB from $ 27,237 to form a short-term downtrend.
The rest of the pack
In the rest of the majors, it was a bearish day on Saturday.
Bitcoin Cash SV and Ripples XRP led the way, with losses of 3.25% and 3.57% respectively.
Chainlink (-2.89%), Ethereum (-1.83%) and Litecoin (-2.11%) also struggled.
Binance Coin (-1.29%), Cardanos ADA (-0.75%), Crypto.com Coin (-0.73%) and Polkadot (-0.06%) however recorded relatively modest losses.
During the current week, the total crypto market fell to a Wednesday low of $ 1,832 billion before hitting a Saturday high of $ 2,124 billion. At the time of writing, the total market cap was $ 2,062 billion.
Bitcoin dominance fell to a Tuesday low of 43.67% before climbing back to a Wednesday high of 45.35%. At the time of writing this article, Bitcoin dominance stands at 44.55%.
