Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano and co-founder of Ethereum, told CNBC on Tuesday that he expects cryptocurrencies to gain momentum in Afghanistan due to a growing need for more privacy .

Hoskinson has previously pointed out how owning digital assets could help sufferers in Afghanistan by calling for an end to financial regimes in their current form.
