Donald Trump takes another hit on crypto

Former US President Donald Trump called cryptocurrencies a “potential disaster to come”.

The former leader also expressed his doubts and concerns about the digital currency, saying it could “be fake”.

Trump told Fox Business he did not – and never would invest – in cryptocurrencies because he loved “the currency of the United States.”

He went on to say that the others were potentially an impending disaster.

“I feel he [cryptocurrency] hurts the currency of the United States, ”he said.

“I think we should strengthen ourselves, we should be invested in our currency, not in [cryptocurrencies]. They might be wrong, who knows what they are?

“I have never been a big fan of crypto”

Trump also warned that it was dangerous to invest in crypto assets because “it is certainly something that people don’t know much about,” adding that he was never “a big fan”.

The former president has often criticized Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. In June of this year, he said Bitcoin “appeared to be a scam.”

“I don’t like it because it’s another currency that competes with the dollar,” he complained.

“I want the dollar to be the currency of the world.

“I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is very volatile and based on the air. Unregulated crypto-assets can facilitate illegal behavior, including drug trafficking and other illegal activities.

On the other hand, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler recently said he supports digital currencies, but argued that “the field will not reach any of its potentials if it try to stay outside our laws ”.
