The UK Post recently announced that it will offer options to purchase crypto through its EasyID identity verification app.
The EasyID app, launched on August 23, now has 10 million users. The EasyID application was developed in partnership with Yoti, a global digital identity platform. With the option to buy crypto, EasyID users can access Swarm Markets, a unified crypto exchange. Swarm Markets is the world’s first DeFi protocol licensed and compliant with financial markets.
Access to products and services is moving more and more online and we have responded to this change by launching our free app, Post Office EasyID, allowing people to create their own secure digital identity on their smartphone and to control and prove easily who they are to any business they want to interact with. shared a spokesperson for the post.
According to an initial report by The Telegraph, verified EasyID users can access the Swarm Markets website and purchase crypto vouchers directly from their mobile phones. These vouchers can then be exchanged for cryptocurrencies and tokens. The report states that the post office itself will not receive a commission on vouchers sold, as their partnership with Swarm Markets is limited to using EasyID as identity verification software.
By making it easy and secure to buy real Bitcoin and Ethereum, more people now have the opportunity to get into crypto. shared Philipp Pieper, co-founder of Swarm Markets.
Swarm Markets is a Berlin-based exchange regulated by BaFin (Federal Financial Supervisory Authority), the German financial regulatory agency. The platform operates with the usual features of a decentralized financial protocol, with trading, automated market maker (AMM), storage, lending and yield farming built into its operational stack. Swarm Markets’ AMM smart contracts are derived from the Balancer protocol, with changes to authorization layers for compatibility with its Swarm Passports functionality, as well as whitelisted assets.
When people buy cryptocurrencies, they should be sold with a very clear wealth warning: you could get back a lot less than what you bought. It’s one thing to buy crypto online through an investment platform because that’s what the public expects, but you don’t associate that with the post. according to Warren Shute, a certified financial planner.
The rapprochement of post offices with a crypto exchange came as a surprise to many, given that the current volatility in the crypto market has led to serious risk warnings against investing in crypto assets from UK regulatory agency, the Financial Conduct Authority.
