The role

As a Senior Engineer in our clients’ technology function, you will bring technical delivery capabilities to development teams and provide support for the delivery of production systems. You will be proactive in resolving issues as they arise and be able to take responsibility for accomplishing complex delivery tasks with the support and guidance of senior engineers.

You will be passionate about software development, self-taught and eager to develop your technical skills to help your development team succeed. You must be comfortable working in agile teams, fostering transparent and collaborative communication, have a commitment to quality and continuous improvement with a strong focus on delivery.

The ideal person

Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics (or a closely related discipline), or equivalent experience in industry

Over 3 years of industry experience. ● Software development lifecycle experience in a technical role within a multi-skilled delivery team ● Be able to demonstrate the development and delivery of key features in a complex system ● Experience in using C ++ or Python as the primary delivery language in a professional environment ● Be able to demonstrate knowledge of modern C ++ (at least C ++ 11) to support feature delivery ● Experience in use of agile tools to support team delivery ● Knowledge of Python

● An advanced degree such as a master’s degree, in a relevant field such as IT, STEM degrees, finance or economics

Other goodies to have include:

Experience with C ++ 20 or more ● Experience using Boost ● Experience with Linux shell (or Windows powershell) ● Experience using Git for version control ● Experience with CI and CD in a corporate environment and tools partners such as Ansible, Docker and Gitlab ● Experience with virtualization and cloud offerings in a production environment such as Linode, GCP and AWS ● Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes ● Experience contributing to open source projects ● Experience of Ethereum smart contract development using Solidity or other smartcontract technologies ● Experience with general distributed ledger (blockchain) technologies and concepts such as consensus algorithms, side chains and scaling solutions ● Experience with other general purpose scripting languages, such as Ruby or Perl
