As reported by Zscaler, the website looked like a fake version of Apple’s website, advertising a Bitcoin giveaway. All the person had to do was send 0.1 to 20 Bitcoin via a QR code to get double that amount returned.

It was a scam, but there were just enough precautions to convince people that it was legitimate. Over $ 69,000 has been sent to this Bitcoin wallet, which shows that the program has been a great success.

Those with technological knowledge can spot the website’s many flaws, from grammar issues to the .org URL. However, most people who only have a fleeting understanding of technology could easily have mistaken such a website for legitimate promotion.

The scammer’s website is currently down and likely will remain so after successfully swindling $ 69,000 in Bitcoin.
