Today, Bitstamp and ZEBEDEE announced a partnership that allows customers to instantly top up their ZBD wallet in-game and use it as a flash wallet.
Bitstamp’s lightning-fast integration will allow customers to seamlessly move Bitcoin to the ZEBEDEE gaming ecosystem. Users will now be able to use bitcoin in virtual gaming environments.
“This is a true integration of games and BTC trading,” said Bitstamp CTO David Osojnik. “With the ability to easily move bitcoins between ZEBEDEE and Bitstamp with just the push of a button, it’s basically like having a joint account for both platforms. The global gaming industry is worth more than $ 170 billion a year, more than the music and film industries combined. This is why we are optimistic that this integration will encourage the next wave of crypto investors.
This is the first time that players will be able to transfer Bitcoin from an exchange directly to ZEBEDEE. To celebrate, Bitstamp is distributing 1 Bitcoin directly to players through a range of games powered by ZEBEDEE.
ZEBEDEE CEO Simon Cowel said: “Bitcoin is the foundation of our technology stack because it is simply the best network and the best form of money for work. With our platform, we’ve unlocked the next frontier for the gaming economy: nano-payouts as small as a fraction of a cent and the ability to instantly transfer your winnings between different games and into the real world. ”
Due to compliance constraints, the product will not yet be available in the United States, but it will be available to all other Bitstamp customers around the world.
With over two billion players worldwide, ZEBEDEE and Bitstamp are creating an inherently global and inclusive virtual ecosystem by implementing Bitcoin. This growing ecosystem is based on the Bitcoin Lightning Network, which facilitates instant payments with near zero fees.
“We recognize that ZEBEDEE is developing the potential to transform the way economies are formed in virtual worlds,” said Julian Sawyer, CEO of Bitstamp. “When your activities in a game can have real economic implications, it opens new doors for creating value. In the future, the virtual economy will certainly become more important than what we call the real world economy. The key to achieving this is to have an open and interoperable system. ”
