Tesla CEO and cryptocurrency champion Elon Musk on Thursday posted a scorching tweet about Bitcoin’s record $ 69,000 the day before, eliciting responses from thousands of users.
The cartoon featured a man and woman in bed watching $ 69,000 bitcoin on their TVs, followed by a relatively lackluster ether at $ 4,200.
His tweet may have been inspired by the fact that bitcoin hit a record high of almost $ 67,000 on Wednesday, following the successful launch of ProShares’ Bitcoin Strategy ETF, the first futures fund.

After the ETF’s launch, many market experts believe bitcoin could climb to $ 80,000 in the short term and even up to $ 168,000 in the longer term.
The billionaire’s tweets have in the past raised the price of coins such as bitcoin, dogecoin and even shiba inu, although his post on Wednesday did not generate much reaction in the market.
Tesla holds 42,902 bitcoins worth nearly $ 2.8 billion, according to Bitcoin Treasuries. However, the company said it suffered a $ 51 million write-down on its holdings in the third quarter.
