Pediatric Nurse Turns Crypto Trading Hobby Into Main Job, Now Has Seven-Figure Income

A 31-year-old pediatric nurse who traded cryptocurrency during lunch breaks is said to have quit the job to become a full-time day trader with a seven-figure income.

Dorgan, from Omaha, Nebraska, originally told his story to Bloomberg Businessweek for an article titled “These unemployed Americans tell us the turmoil in the labor market is anything but transient” which was published on October 14. According to this article, Dorgan started trading crypto in 2017 during his breaks from work.

Dorgan told Insider via Facebook that after seeing a report mentioning that the price of Bitcoin exceeded $ 2,000 and doing some research, he realized that “this was a huge opportunity to get involved in crypto as soon as possible “.

Then, last year, after noticing that he could make more money exchanging crypto in five minutes than he could with his hospital job in a whole day, he realized that he had to quit his job and trade cryptos full time:

“It was really hard to sit in my office making a couple hundred bucks a day or whatever and then trade on my lunch break and earn my whole day’s pay in five minutes.”

In August 2020, he quit his nursing job after consulting with a financial advisor to make sure he had enough cash on hand in case his move to full-time crypto trading didn’t work. And now, apparently, he has a seven-figure income and is “very happy” with this life-changing decision.

Dorgan says these days he’s “invested in traditional markets as well as bitcoin, litecoin, and ethereum.” Dorgan is able to trade from a vacation home and has more time to spend with his newborn baby. He also began exercising and meditating in his spare time, and undertook home improvement projects.
