Shiba Inu hit an all-time high earlier today, but the cryptocurrency meme SafeMoon (CRYPTO: SAFEMOON) also posts solid gains from Tuesday night, extending a massive rally since the start of this month.
What happened: SafeMoon, which launched in March, has risen 15.5% in the past 24 hours, trading at $ 0.000003323 at the time of publication.
Altcoin jumped 17.7% against the apex cryptocurrency Bitcoin and also gained 13.4% against Ethereum in the 24 hour period. It currently has a market cap of $ 1.93 billion.
The token is generating a lot of interest on social media and is second on Stocktwits behind Shiba Inu, the self-proclaimed “Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE)” killer.
SafeMoon is still down 76.4% from its all-time high of $ 0.00001399 reached in April.

Why it matters: SafeMoon, a decentralized financial token or self-proclaimed DeFi, said earlier this month that its SafeMoonWallet was live on Apple’s iOS platform (NASDAQ: AAPL). The SafeMoon wallet now comes with a built-in Binance Coin buy button.
The SafeMoon protocol would expand to include an NFT marketplace and coin launch pad that will allow users to create their own cryptocurrencies through the platform, according to the project behind the token.
The coin took to Twitter on Sunday to mention highlights of a meeting between cryptocurrency holders and team CEO John Karony earlier this month.
