Coin Crypto: La Tranche Sportive

[ad_1]

Teams, leagues, and athletes from almost every vertical sports you can think of are finding new partners with crypto companies. Each week, we bring a surface look at all things crypto and sports over the past seven days.

Brooklyn Nets player Kevin Durant is a new investment vehicle. The UFC wants more and is strengthening its crypto relationship. And FTX is making more moves, continuing its role of finding a standard appearance in the Slice. Let’s get into the action from last week:

Sports Slice NFT and NBA continue to be in full swing

NBA teams did not hesitate to get involved in the NFT; in fact, team-specific NFT launches have become a monthly feature, it seems in our Sports Slice reports.

This week, the Philadelphia 76ers are the latest to launch a team-specific NFT drop, in partnership with recent jersey sponsor Crypto.com. The team will host 13 Drops celebrating the historic Spectrum Arena which has long played host to the franchise field.

This year, powerful NBA teams like the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and many more have welcomed their own initiatives into the NFTs. A growing number of crypto exchanges and projects have also ensured substantial visibility in the sport, as StormX is a jersey partner (along with the aforementioned Crypto.com) within the league.

UFC continues crypto exposure

If you’re a UFC fan, you’ve probably noticed the rise in crypto engagement in sports, especially given Crypto.com’s exposure as the league’s official sponsor.

UFC is now expanding this relationship with Crypto.com to include an exclusive line of NFT UFCs. According to reports, UFC athletes are expected to receive 50% of revenue from NFT sales.

FTX is not made with sporting commitment

In last week’s Slice, we covered FTX’s latest engagement in sports, as the growing exchange sought to lock down a Super Bowl commercial. This week FTX takes a look at some of the latest NIL stocks (name, image and likeness). The exchange signed a team agreement with the Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team. Players, however, will be paid individually and will be key aspects of a major advertising campaign for the crypto platform.

Crypto.com’s native platform token, $ CRO, has recently been a hot topic. The crypto platform has been particularly aggressive in sports partnerships this year and is now strengthening its relationship with the UFC. | Source: CRO-USD on TradingView.com Could a crypto company land with Kevin Durant’s latest investment vehicle?

Kevin Durant launches a SPAC – or special purpose acquisition company. SPAC has had a season of ups and downs, especially late last year and early this year. The enthusiasm waned and fewer and fewer high-quality companies opted for PSPC by going public.

However, Kevin Durant and his business partner Rich Kleiman, founders of Thirty Five Ventures, have built an established reputation for getting their hands on some successful companies including Robinhood and Coinbase. One of the target categories for the next Kleiman and Durant SPAC? “Crypto and digital assets.”

Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman launch $ 200 million SPAC, seeking to acquire a business in sports, health, e-commerce, food or crypto.

Aaron Rodgers, the latest crypto ambassador in sports

It’s been quite a week for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Considered one of the best pass launchers in the game today, Rodgers started the week last week by announcing a partnership with Cash App to take part of his paycheck in Bitcoin. Rodgers is joining a growing number of NFL athletes in doing so. The partnership has also seen over $ 1 million in crypto giveaways for Cash App users.

The news was clouded within days by the implications of the Rodgers Covid protocol, as the quarterback was sidelined for this weekend’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, with an uproar surrounding his status vaccination.

Dapper Labs at the forefront of “The Metaverse For Cricket”

Cricket is a sport that is rarely exhibited in the United States, but has a massive global presence. Dapper Labs has built its global sports intellectual property partners, starting with the NBA and WNBA, as well as the NFL and La Liga.

Dapper Labs has invested in part of a $ 17.4 million funding round behind Faze Technologies, a company looking to build “the metaverse for cricket” on Dapper’s Flow blockchain. Led by Tiger Global, the roundtable will seek to put Faze in a neck-and-neck battle with Polygon-based Rario, a cricket-focused NFT platform launched just a few months ago.

Dapper Labs is also integrating Japanese media company mixi, Inc. on Flow, according to a recent press release. Dapper shows clear initiative in building global relationships.
