AMC Starts Accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum And 2 Other Cryptos, CEO Says “Dogecoin Next” – Dogecoin – US Dollar ($ DOGE)

Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc (NYSE: AMC), announced on Twitter Thursday that the movie chain now accepts Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) and two other cryptocurrencies.

What happened: Aron said that AMC will then roll out the Dogecoin payment (CRYPTO: DOGE). Besides BTC and ETH, AMC now also accepts Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin.

The movie theater chain also accepts Apple Pay from Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL), Google Pay from Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (NASDAQ: GOOG) and the payment solution from Paypal Holdings Inc (NASDAQ : PYPL), which account for 14% of total AMC transactions, according to Aron.

Why it matters: Aron had conducted polls targeting his Twitter after asking them if the company should accept coins such as Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.

On Tuesday, the CEO said the movie chain was exploring how to accept SHIB, saying there had been a “tidal wave of incoming messages to our company.”

The cinema chain has also reportedly explored the creation of its own cryptocurrency.

AMC posted third quarter revenue of $ 755.6 million, beating the consensus estimate of $ 708.3 million. Attendance rose to 40 million over the period, against 6.5 million year-on-year.

Price Action: On Thursday, AMC shares closed 3.06% higher at $ 39.46 in the regular session and gained 0.33% in after-hours trading. As of going to press on 24 hours, BTC has traded 1.09% more to $ 65,261.09, while ETH has risen 4.58% to $ 4,807.31.
