What will be the trends in the cryptocurrency space in 2022 and what will be the role of XRP after the SEC v. Ripple finished?
We are heading into the last month of 2021, a year that has seen the cryptocurrency market reach new all-time highs in both overall market capitalization and asset prices.
Investors and the digital asset ecosystem are now looking for signals on what to expect in 2022 and beyond as the industry matures.
JP Morgan, one of the world’s largest investment banks, will host its JP Morgan Crypto Economy Forum tomorrow, November 30.
A report from JP Morgan sent to investors earlier this month put XRP and the SEC lawsuit against Ripple in the spotlight and concluded that a victory would put the crypto asset on the path to widespread adoption. More on that, here.
Coinbase, which has been mentioned as a key player in releasing XRP, said it will participate in the forum and be represented by CEO Brian Armstrong and senior independent director Fred Wilson. The exchange operator will share the fireside chat during a live webcast. More information, here.
Ripple successfully accelerated its global expansion this year despite fears the lawsuit could cause hesitation among institutional partners. Now it looks like the blockchain company will be hiring a few hundred in 2022 as it prepares for the launch of the next Liquidity Hub.
On top of that, the XRP Ledger just got a ‘game changer’ upgrade that took a year to go into effect. Ripple CTO David Schwartz said it was “great news”.
The bank is one of the big guys to join the crypto movement, having created its own digital coin for payments (JPM Coin) and offering wealth management clients access to crypto through the Grayscale and Osprey trusts as well as a internal Bitcoin fund.
JP Morgan also made headlines admitting that institutional investors are increasingly replacing gold with Bitcoin and also shifting their favorites from Bitcoin to Ether.
As part of the crypto industry trend, the financial institution is monitoring Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin, as well as Polkadot, Uniswap, and Chainlink.
The JP Morgan Crypto Economy Forum will focus on “the ecosystem of today and the market of tomorrow”. Attendance at the conference is by invitation only.
If you are a customer who would like to receive an invitation to the next conference, you can contact your JP Morgan representative or send an email to the relevant conference regional team:
