Macro guru Raoul Pal says crypto asset is at center of metaverse

Real Vision CEO and macro guru Raoul Pal offers his take on the direction of the Metaverse and the crypto project that will prevail.

The former Goldman Sachs executive said in a new interview with InvestAnswers that while he has made huge gains by investing in The Sandbox (SAND), valued at $ 6.19 at the time of writing, it is difficult to say what is valuable today will hold true down the road.

When asked what his favorite investment in the Metaverse was, Pal replied:

“They are all imperfect. Will the world be built on Sandbox or Decentraland? I do not think so. Can they adapt and change and become something different? May be.

The sandbox has become my second biggest asset because it has multiplied by 20 in one month.

I strongly believe in the Metaverse, but this is no place. It’s kind of a digital state of affairs. So I don’t think there is a way to play it as it is.

The visionary crypto goes on to explain how virtual real estate might not turn out to be as hot a commodity as real property.

“I’m also thinking of digital real estate ownership, without wanting to have metaverse experience…

I think more of people who buy real estate because it’s next to Snoop Dogg in Decentraland or Sandbox. Is it valuable or not?

I think there’s a near zero probability that we’ll be walking down the street in the metaverse and [say], ‘Oh my God, Snoop Dogg is next to Real Vision!’

Because when you see [virtual world] Cryptovoxels, you are basically given a GPS coordinate and that brings you to a place, you teleport. So what’s the value of being in a neighborhood? “

Pal concludes by saying that while he lacks long-term confidence in the various metaverse projects, the main Ethereum smart contract platform (ETH) appears to be the most significant associated investment at the center of it all.

“I’m afraid we are way ahead. I will not hold my investments in this area for a long time because I do not have the faith that these are the right things.

I watched a bunch of them [projects] and the answer is, I really don’t know. But one thing we do know, it’s highly likely that Ethereum will be the center of it right now.

Ethereum is becoming a decent proxy for now. It’s not perfect, but it’s okay.

ETH is trading at $ 4,572 at the time of writing, down 3% on the day.
