Kevin Durant and his company Thirty Five Ventures have signed a multi-year promotional agreement with Coinbase Global. Durant will become an important face of Coinbase, which will provide advertisements and sponsored content for the NBA star. Durant’s movement is the latest of many high performance athletes to step into the digital asset wave.

NBA superstar Kevin Durant and his company Thirty Five Ventures have just signed a new multi-year agreement with cryptocurrency platform Coinbase Global.

Durant, who currently plays for the Brooklyn Nets, will help promote Coinbase across its various businesses and emerge as an important face of the brand. The first Coinbase ad with Durant is scheduled to air on Thursday.

In return, Coinbase will provide digital ads and sponsored content with its sports site Boardroom and support its youth programs.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal signals further growth in the relationship between Durant and Coinbase. In 2017, Thirty Five Ventures invested in Coinbase in a $ 100 million funding round.

Meanwhile, Coinbase continues its push into professional sports after signing a sponsorship deal with the NBA in October.

Durant’s move also marks the latest of many top sports collaborations in the digital asset arena. Earlier this week, the Golden State Warriors signed an international deal with the FTX crypto exchange, after its franchisor Steph Curry bought a $ 180,000 Bored Ape NFT in August.

In November, NFL star Aaron Rodgers announced he would take part of his salary in bitcoin as part of his partnership with Square, while fellow footballer Tom Brady spoke about his NFT collection and its digital memories platform, Autograph.

Even the buildings were caught in the wave – Los Angeles’ famed Staples Center is renamed Crypto.com Arena under a deal announced in November.
