World’s Largest Business Holder of Bitcoin Continues to Support the Truck – Here Are 3 Easy Ways To Jump On The Recent Crypto Slide

Despite its recent fall, Bitcoin has clearly hit the general public.

Not only are retail investors buying it, but several large companies are supporting the truck as well.

Case in point: the MicroStrategy enterprise software technologist. It is already the largest corporate bitcoin holder in the world, but management continues to dramatically increase its vault.

Between November 29 and December 8, MicroStrategy bought 1,434 bitcoin for around $ 82.4 million, taking full advantage of the crypto’s pullback from historic highs. This brought MicroStrategy’s total bitcoin reserve to 122,478 coins, worth around $ 5.9 billion.

MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor recently said bitcoin is “on the rise forever,” so the company’s recent purchases should come as no surprise.

Of course, MicroStrategy isn’t the only company to have linked with bitcoin.

Here’s a look at three other stocks that can give investors exposure to the crypto world – one might be worth buying with some of your extra cash.

Global Coinbase (COIN)

If you’ve ever bought bitcoin on an exchange before, you know that there are usually transaction fees involved. And as more and more people rush to buy cryptocurrencies, these transaction fees add up quickly.

This is where Coinbase found its opportunity. As the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, it charges transaction fees whenever someone buys or sells cryptocurrency on their exchange.

In the third quarter, Coinbase had 7.4 million monthly retail transaction users. It generated $ 1.1 billion in transaction revenue and $ 145 million in subscription and service revenue.

True, Coinbase shares are currently trading at around $ 250 apiece. But you can get a part of the business by using a popular stock trading app that lets you buy fractional stocks with as much money as you are willing to spend.

Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA)

Marathon Digital Holdings is a cryptocurrency miner.

As of December 1, the company’s mining fleet had produced approximately 2,712.3 self-mined bitcoins in 2021.

The story continues

And while some Bitcoin miners might be tempted to sell their coins in the middle of this year’s crypto rally, Marathon is simply accumulating them – also known as Hang on to Life, or HODL, to crypto enthusiasts. .

In fact, the company hasn’t sold any bitcoin since October 2020. It even bought 4,812.66 bitcoins in January 2021 for an average price of $ 31,168 per coin.

Due to continued build-up, Marathon now owns approximately 7,649.1 bitcoins, a stake worth over $ 360 million.

Unsurprisingly, the title has performed well over the past year. Despite the recent pullback in bitcoin, Marathon shares are still up over 200% in 2021.

PayPal Fund (PYPL)

The digital payments technologist PayPal hasn’t been a hot commodity lately. While the S&P 500 is up around 26% year-to-date, PayPal shares are down 19% over the same period.

But it could give contrarian investors food for thought. After all, the core business of the company is not doing too badly.

In the third quarter, PayPal’s total payment volume grew 26 percent year-over-year to $ 310 billion. It generated $ 6.18 billion in net income, up 13% from a year ago.

The company has also entered the crypto arena.

Users can use its PayPal and Venmo apps to buy, sell, and hold bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The company said early crypto users on its platforms grew 15% in the third quarter.

Of course, if you don’t feel comfortable picking individual winners and losers, you can always automatically build a diverse portfolio just using your ‘spare’.

Exotic alternatives

Ultimately, stocks and cryptos are volatile.

Diversification is the key. And you don’t have to stay in the public markets to get it.

If you want to invest in something without bitcoin’s violent swings, take a look at some hidden alternative assets.

Traditionally, investing in things like exotic vehicles or multi-family apartments or even financing litigation were options only for the ultrarich.

But with the help of new platforms, these types of opportunities are now also available to retail investors.
