2021 is drawing to a close, and much to the chagrin of the Bitcoin bulls (CCC: BTC-USD), the BTC coin does not end the year with a six-digit valuation. After numerous predictions in the spring and early summer that Bitcoin would hit $ 100,000 or even more before 2022, it now looks like the coin will struggle to hit $ 50,000 next week. And with Bitcoin looking to struggle at the start of the year, some are bracing for a 2022 crypto bear market. Bitcoin is proving to be a weather vane for the entire asset class, and if Bitcoin is in trouble. , we wouldn’t be surprised if all cryptos had a rough time the following year.

But will Bitcoin break free? Will investors see a rapid turnaround? Analysts are quite torn on the issue. Let’s take a look at some analysts’ views to get a feel for the market over the next year.
Crypto bear market 2022? Many bullish investors still say the opposite.
Many bulls argue that a bearish crypto market in 2022 is out of the question. As pseudonymous crypto influencer “Light” puts it, the reason is that bears will slow the selling momentum by the end of the year.
Light posted a series of tweets over the weekend discussing the forecast for next year. They were very clear in their prediction: the bears will not continue to sell as 2022 approaches. They say a huge factor in keeping Bitcoin – and therefore other altcoins – prices down was the sale of mass. Technical analysis also links Bitcoin’s trading behavior with aggressive short selling in the stock market.
Another Bitcoin bull, analyst Philip Swift, is also not sweating the sweat. Swift believes that the one-year moving average is the most important statistic to consider when predicting momentum. And, ultimately, Bitcoin remains above its one-year trendline. As such, he says investors should stay bullish.
Meanwhile, CoinTelegraph is assembling a series of analyst comments that point to a new uptrend. The site references comments from pseudonymous analysts Tech Dev and Nunya Bizniz, who suggest Bitcoin is behaving the same way it was before the 2017 breakthrough.
Bears fear BTC momentum will continue to decline until 2022
These bullish catches are not representative of the entire market; there are still a handful of analysts who believe this is just the start of a market downturn.
Michaël van de Poppe, a well-known crypto analyst in his own right, is sure that the new year means more losses for BTC. On his YouTube channel, van de Poppe looked at some charts showing lower and lower levels of support; although he retains his holdings of Bitcoin, he is not convinced that the currency remains above some crucial support levels.
Additionally, van de Poppe believes there is more than technical analysis that should hold Bitcoin back in the New Year. The massive increase in coronavirus cases as a result of the omicron variant is behind macroeconomic factors that will keep BTC prices going into the future, argues van de Poppe.
And he’s not alone either. A previously optimistic Kraken CEO Jesse Powell is also skeptical of a recovery in Bitcoin prices in the immediate future. A few weeks ago, Powell revoked his price forecast of $ 100,000 for the coin by year-end; now he says he could see Bitcoin drop below $ 40,000 this winter.
