Crypto-mining Daymak Spiritus EV takes its first test drive

Daymak unveiled the first “production” prototype of its lightweight 85 mph electric three-wheeler, the Daymak Spiritus, in October. Back then it was thought to be a static exhibit – but now? He’s a runner, and we have a video.

The video was posted with the description “Spiritus 3-Wheel Electric Car First Test Drive” by Mike Chow, vice president of R&D at Daymak, Inc., on what appears to be his personal YouTube channel (the only ones other videos on there is Chow swinging a stick from Bo, Donatello style, in the park – dude is pretty legit too).

In this video, the Daymak Spiritus does a whole bunch of regular car stuff. He walks around a parking lot. He goes down a road. Nothing overwhelming, in and of itself… but it moves by its own power, and its message is clear: Spiritus is real.

The Spiritus is far from the only three-wheeler, of course, but it gained some notoriety when it was revealed, at an invitation-only event held at York University in Toronto this month. latest, that it would be the first electric vehicle in the world to mine cryptocurrency during its downtime systematically when it goes into production.

Daymak has a stated goal of building up to 50,000 Spiritus electric three-wheelers per year in Ontario, Canada, where it hopes to create hundreds of manufacturing and technology jobs with its partners, EV Battery Tech and IONiX. Pro. The company is currently finalizing its plans for a 425,000 square foot facility where all of its premium “Avvenire” branded products will eventually be built.

As far as we know, Daymak has built one (1) running prototype and plans to build four more in the coming months. Daymak displayed excellent design skills, smart thinking, and (like Sony) seems to make enough sense to slow things down. The real question now is, when the time comes to deliver on a large scale, will Daymak be able to overcome this inertia, or will he be too distracted with his crypto projects to deliver?
