Crypto-related ads quintupled in 2021 according to LinkedIn research.
Crypto-related job postings on LinkedIn have quintupled in 2021 amid an explosion of interest in digital assets and NFTs.
Job postings with titles including terms such as “bitcoin,” “ethereum,” “blockchain,” and “cryptocurrency” rose 395% in the U.S. year-over-year, outpacing the tech industry that saw a 98% increase over the same period. .
LinkedIn analysis found that while most crypto job postings were in software and finance, other sectors, including professional services, are also seeing an increase in demand for crypto talent. According to the study, the most common job titles included blockchain developers and engineers.
Investors around the world poured $30 billion into crypto and blockchain startups in 2021, according to data from PitchBook, boosting job opportunities in the space.
It comes as a study by payment platform Paysafe found that 55% of digital asset owners would prefer to be paid in cryptocurrency. The figure was highest in the 18-24 age bracket, with 60% of crypto investors wanting to be paid in crypto.

The San Francisco Bay Area, Austin in Texas, New York, Miami-Fort Lauderdale and Denver were hotspots for crypto jobs and saw the most digital asset job openings in 2021, a LinkedIn told Marketwatch.
