Hello and welcome to Equity, a podcast about startup activity, where we unpack the numbers and nuances behind the headlines.

We had the whole crew on board today, led by our killer production team Grace and Chris, and hospitality team Mary Ann, Natasha and Alex.

Funding rounds from Pluto (business spending in the Middle East), Free Agency (tech talent agents) and Metafy (video game coaching) got us started. Among a host of tours this week, we have chosen the most interesting for your delight. If you want to know more about games, check out our Wednesday show where we focus on the universe, or in this case, the metaverse. The new fund Seven Seven Six got us into the groove of crypto investing, which Alex explored here earlier in the week. In short: expect more crypto offerings. We also touched on the Indian crypto tax rule, which is the revelation of a regulation. From there, we dove into the realm of fintech through the lens of the Bolt fiasco/drama/truth saga. More tweets, please. And then, we end with a section on autonomous vehicles, which has nothing to do with cars. Yes, we’re talking about Cute Farming Robots, including rounds from Vecna, Electric Sheep, and the founder of MongoDB who do this, which reminds us that the AWS of robots isn’t too far off.

So far, 2022 is going well. Alongside our soon-to-be live broadcast circuit, we’re working hard to make the show more focused on tension and nuance, while staying true to our love of numbers and cheesy networks. Let’s bore some people this year, and learn something in the meantime.
