UNION CITY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Finterest, the first cryptographic lending protocol available on the Internet Computer (ICP) designed to support native Bitcoin borrowing and lending, today announced the closing of its $1.5 million seed round. Notable investors include Polychain Capital through the Beacon Fund, an ecosystem fund focused on internet computing, and 9Yards Capital, among others.
Founded in 2022 by 24-year-old Olliver Barr and Carl Sachs, Finterest is the first bridgeless borrowing and lending protocol available on the Internet Computer, a blockchain network that can execute up to 11,500 transactions per second with finality. of a second. As the first crypto lending protocol on the PKI, Finterest offers completely decentralized lending and borrowing options through faster, trustless code implementation and fewer vulnerabilities. Fininterest’s bridgeless approach provides increased transparency, greater reliability, stronger security, and a more beneficial relationship between blockchains.
Seed funding from Finterests will allow the company to continue expanding its team and building its platform ahead of its beta launch in January 2023 and official launch shortly thereafter. Features Fininterest intends to build with the recipes include its multi-signature wallet and data oracle solution, FinnyFeed, which went live in October 2022.
Recent industry events underscore the importance of true decentralization and transparency on blockchain, said Olliver Barr and Carl Sachs, co-founders of Finterest. We are grateful to our investors and look forward to expanding our capabilities through this fundraiser to help web3 achieve mass adoption by making decentralized finance safer and easier to use.
In order to bring the masses into web3 and decentralized finance in particular, platforms will need to become increasingly user-friendly, transparent and secure, said Alexa Smith, Beacon Fund Manager, Polychain. Finterest is tackling this problem by reducing points of centralization across their entire technology stack, from hosting their front-end chain to building their own smart-contract-based oracle solution. We are delighted to support the Finterest team as they provide better and safer experiences for users.
There is a clear and strong need for a lending solution like Finterest that eliminates reliance on bridges that are inherently awash with inconvenience and risk, said David Fisher, managing partner at 9Yards Capital. Finterest provides a truly decentralized, bridgeless lending platform for DeFi users and we are excited to support them on their journey to bring much-needed transparency to blockchain.
About Finestest Finestest is the premier native bitcoin borrowing and lending platform, operated with confidence on The Internet Computer. Fininterest’s bridgeless approach to crypto lending allows users to easily borrow and lend native Bitcoins, ICPs and Stablecoins.
