Recent comments from CEOs do not bode well for a quick arrival on the Open Mainnet.

The co-founders of Pi Network give their vision on the podcast

Pi Network has grown organically to over 30 million users for over three years. As of December 2021, many users have been expecting to see the mainnet officially arrive, but continued delays are still keeping users waiting.

Following the launch of the attached mainnet in December 2021, a major blog post from the Pi Core team came in March 2022, updating the community and detailing the progress of the mainnet. This blog post predicted the arrival of the open mainnet in March or June 2022.

In December 2022, many members of the Pi community are looking for answers. Mainnet shut down is taking longer than expected due to KYC issues. And the wait could be even longer.

A recent interview with Pi Network co-founders Nicolas Kokkalis and Chengdiao Fan on the CRYPTO 101 podcast did little to lift the spirits of the mainnet’s arrival. See an excerpt in the tweet below where Fan predicts progress over the next two to three years on the Pi Network vision.

This is my opinion, many pioneers will continue to leave after this month, fewer members join the project in the past 6 months, and if by March 14th we have not entered the open mainnet, it will be even worse. #pi #pinetwork

Edycabas, an active member of the Pi Network community, also gives a pessimistic view of the project over the next semester.

Another reason many projects get anxious is the lack of fiat connection to the Pi network. Many projects struggle to raise funds, legitimize their projects, and build communities without access to funding.

Because Pi has no value during the mainnet shutdown, and the exchange of legal tender is also prohibited. And the opening time of the mainnet is unknown, so all app development teams face a common problem, the problem of funds, a member of the Pi Chain Mall team told BSC News.

Recent validator issues have also started giving headaches to many veteran pioneers and enthusiasts.

To their credit, Pi Network Core Team has been in communication with the Pi community at all times. There are even members of the Core team designated as contacts for large Pi projects. There has been transparency.

And through it all, many in the Pi community are holding their own and persevering under market conditions.

1/8 #Pioneers who give up. Back to the 3-year journey. We have come a long way. Remember 1 thing. Pi Network is a self-started company with no external funds involved. I will link a story of a company that started with revolutionary..

With millions of members and empty promises of real public services, many projects and users are still strained by continual postponements. Another major update from the Pi Network team might do well to allay community concerns.

See below for the full interview with Pi Network co-founders Nicolas Kokkalis and Chengdiao Fan alongside Bryce Paul from the Crypto 101 podcast.
