The crypto market capitalization fell below the $800 million mark today for a short time as the prices of most cryptos fell by a significant margin. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Binance (BNB) were all down with heavy losses. Most altcoins make a new low price with every passing hour. BTC was the most trending crypto.

The crypto market capitalization fell around 5.68% to $801.7 billion and its trading volume increased by 43.42% to $48.48 billion, according to data from Coinmarketcap.com at 8:50 a.m.

Today’s top winner was UNUS SED LEO (LEO); it rose 6.23% to $3.93. The main loser was Trust Wallet Token (TWT), which was trading at $1.46 with a loss of 32.17% in the past 24 hours to Friday morning.

Bitcoin: BTC fell 4.22% to $16,686.58.

BTC was trading with marginal gains on the morning of December 16, but pared all further gains to trade with heavy losses. It was around 7 p.m. on December 16 when BTC fell below $17,000.

The lowest price for BTC was $16,584.70. BTC trading volume increased by 25.57% to $24,986,685,735.

Ethereum: Ethereum (ETH) price fell 7.54% to $1,174.96 in the past 24 hours through Thursday morning.

ETH was very volatile on December 16 and its price was trading in a narrow range between $1,271 and $1,274. The moment that caused the price of ETH to drop significantly occurred around 1 p.m. And after 1pm, with each passing hour, ETH continued to make a new low price.

The lowest price for ETH was $1,162.18. ETH trading volume increased by 81.41% to $9,762,945,298.

Other Altcoins: The price of Solana (SOL) fell 13.38% to $12.15 today.

Ripple (XRP) fell 6.42% to $0.3531 and its 24-hour trading volume was $1.1 billion.

Cardano (ADA) fell 12.75% to $0.2621. Cardano’s 24-hour trading volume increased by 132.23% to $472,733,700.

Binance (BNB) fell 12.78% to $228.76. Its 24-hour trading volume increased by 109.08% to $1,438,157,714.
