Kevin OLearys Twitter Gets Hacked and Starts Promoting Crypto Giveaways

It seems that the Twitter account of Kevin O’Leary, the star of the TV show “Shark Tank”, has been hacked by scammers offering both Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

Indeed, on December 29, the account pinned a tweet about a supposed giveaway and asked followers to “click the image to join the event.” In a succession of tweets, the TV personality’s followers grew suspicious due to the volume of tweets and the syntax used.

Earlier this month, OLeary revealed that his involvement with cryptocurrency exchange FTX cost him millions of dollars. Notably, OLeary was paid $15 million by FTX to serve as a paid advocate for the now bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange, which some people have called fraudulent.

FTX investors have filed a lawsuit against OLeary among other celebrities claiming that exchange ambassadors should have done more research and be more careful before endorsing the cryptocurrency firm.

The recent incident will have done O’Leary no favors in the cryptocurrency community, which is already wary of the entrepreneur and media personality in the wake of FTX marketing.
