Bitcoin and Ethereum were up 0.68% and 0.66% respectively from the previous day. Even the global crypto market cap was in the green on the second day of the new year.

Bitcoin, the largest and most popular digital token in the world, gained 0.68% to trade at $16,639.65 at the time of writing (1030 IST). Its closest rival, Ethereum, showed the same trends, climbing 0.66% and its price is $1,201.02.
Other popular cryptocurrencies like Polkadot gained 3.66%, Uniswap rose 2.97%, Cardano rose 1.83%, Solana rose 1.67% and Avalanche rose 1.14 % in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, cryptos like XRP lost 2.22% and UNUS SED LEO fell 4.05%.
The global crypto market capitalization stood at $799.03 billion, trading up 0.68% over the past day; however, a 6.54% decline was seen in the total crypto market volume, which totaled $17.94 billion.
Today’s top gainers include OKB and Lido DAO, zooming in at 13.76% and 11.08%, respectively. On the other hand, XRP, Klaytn and UNUS SED LEO were among the top decliners.

Popular meme pieces showed positive trends. Elon Musk-backed Dogecoin rose 0.81% and Shiba Inu rose 0.54%, thus trading at $0.06999 and $0.000008087, respectively, at the time of writing.
Metaverse Tokens Are Trading Higher
Top metaverse tokens also traded with gains today. ApeCoin, Axie Infinity, The Sandbox and Decentraland saw price gains, trading 6.21%, 4.50%, 3.25% and 3.06% respectively.
