Silbert’s response follows an open letter written by Winklesvoss in which he accuses DCG of engaging in bad faith stalling tactics in regards to the $900 million owed to Earn users.

Barry Silbert, founder and CEO of Digital Currency Group, responded to an open letter from Cameron Winklevoss on Wednesday regarding DCG’s alleged $1.675 billion debt.

Silberts’ tweet focused on denying any missed payments, ensuring that DCG had never missed an interest payment and was up to date on all outstanding loans, with the next payment due in May 2023.

He also mentioned his company’s efforts to deliver a resolution to Gemini Earn users by December 29, which has yet to be acknowledged.

Silbert’s tweet came in response to the letter published by Winklevoss, which highlights the growing concerns of 340,000 Earn users who have loaned a total of $900 million to DCG.

Many of those people have invested their life savings and children’s college funds, the letter says.

After Genesis, a subsidiary of DCG, suspended its withdrawal in November, it became clear that Silberts was alleging bad faith dropout tactics were taking their toll on those involved, according to the letter, Winklevoss pointed out. Despite receiving several proposals, Silbert has so far refused to work with Earn users to find an acceptable solution.

Winklevoss views Silbert’s behavior as unacceptable and inadmissible in light of everything people have confided in him. The Gemini co-founder challenges him to take responsibility for his own actions and asks him to publicly commit to fixing this issue by January 8.
