BREAKING: Mastercard Selects Polygon Blockchain for Music Artist Accelerator Program – Report

Mastercard is building its new Web3 program designed to help underground artists on Polygon. Polygon is one step ahead of Solana, paying $3 million to two Solana NFT projects to switch to its platform.

Mastercard, the leading payment network processor, dives into the Web3 industry with an innovative new program aimed at empowering artists. To help execute his plan and realize his vision, Mastercard is turning to the Polygon blockchain for help.

The program, dubbed the Mastercard Artist Accelerator, is specifically created to launch promising studies into the limelight. Built on the polygonal blockchain, the program will use Web3 and Blockchain to help artists build their brand.

According to a recent blog post on the official Polygons site, the Photon is expected to launch in the spring of this year. It will inaugurate five artists, ranging from DJs to musicians and music producers, and arm them with the tools and skills needed to pivot in the digital economy.

Artists will have exclusive access to special events, music releases and more. A one-of-a-kind program will teach artists how to build (and own) their brand through Web3 experiences like typing NFTs, representing themselves in virtual worlds, and building an engaged community. Fans of artists will also have access to past form and learn with artists. Ryan Watts, CEO of Polygon Studios, spoke about the impact Web3 could have on artists’ careers.

Web3 has the potential to empower a new kind of artist who can grow a fanbase, earn a living, and introduce new means of personal expression and connection on their own terms,” said Ryan Wyatt.

Polygons’ involvement with Mastercard certainly gives the blockchain a lot of good publicity. This further reinforces recent statements by Ryan Watts, who called Polygon Studios a funnel for consumer brands looking to jump into the Web3 market.

Polygon overthrows Solana to welcome two new migrants to its channel

Polygon has been making the rounds in the NFT community after two major NFT projects in the Solanas NFT market extended to the Polygon network.

Overthrowing its blockchain rival Solana, Polygon will soon welcome the arrival of both projects.

The DeGods and Yoots digital art collections, both built by DeLabs, revealed in December last year that the two would transition from Solana to Polygon in the first quarter of 2023.

Divulging more details about his decision, project manager Rohun Vora, known on Twitter as @frankdegods, noted that Polygon wired him $3 million to migrate.

The payment is expected to fund the DeLabs team’s growth, while helping it launch larger projects and lead the market.
