According to a new study by Souq Analyst, around 65,000 people in Oman are crypto holders and the majority of them are high school or college graduates. According to the findings of the study, an overwhelming majority (90%) of Oman’s crypto holders are between 18 and 44 years old.
Crypto Awareness in Oman
According to the findings of a new study by Souq Analyst, approximately 65,000 residents of Oman, or 1.9% of the country’s adult population, own cryptocurrency. However, despite the seemingly low ratio of crypto holders to its population, the results suggest that crypto awareness in Oman is considerably high. The report explains:
An impressive 97.9% of Omani adults have heard of cryptocurrency, indicating a growing level of awareness.
The study also revealed that an overwhelming majority (90%) of Oman residents who hold cryptocurrencies are between the ages of 18 and 44.
Oman’s Highly Educated Crypto Holders
Moreover, in the study in which more than 200 people participated, Souq Analyst found that around 66% of crypto owners in Oman hold a bachelor’s degree or higher. Additionally, the study found that approximately 25% of respondents had graduated from high school.
In terms of the composition of crypto assets held, the results of the study indicate that over 55% of cryptocurrency owners in Oman are bitcoin holders. The results also suggest that just under 50% of respondents own ETH while around 25% hold Stablecoin Tether.
Regarding the value of crypto assets held, more than 12% of respondents indicated that the value of their respective wallets exceeded $25,900 or 10,000 Omani Rials. However, a larger proportion of respondents (over 35%) own crypto assets with a US dollar value of less than $259.
Meanwhile, in remarks posted on the Laraontheblock blog, Mohammed Al-Tamami, the founder of Souq Analyst, hailed the study’s findings as “generally useful to everyone”.
