Bitcoin Hash Price Index
According to reports, although the current hash price is at a 3-month high, it is comparatively very low compared to the previous year. While the 2021 bull market was “an extremely profitable time to mine Bitcoin”, especially due to China’s Bitcoin mining ban, the situation was different.
Notably, the average hash price for 2021 was $314.61/PH/day. Additionally, the yearly high was $412.57/PH/day. However, in 2022 things changed – the USD hash price was only $246.86/PH/day. Although the average hash price was $123.88/pH/day, at one point the hash price hit an all-time low of $55.94/pH/day.
The platform defines the hash price as the expected value of 1 TH/s of hash power per day:
Hashprice, a term coined by Luxor, refers to the expected value of 1 TH/s of hashing power per day. The metric quantifies how much a miner can expect to earn from a specific amount of hashrate.
Bitcoin Price and Difficulty
Additionally, Luxor provides the bitcoin community with an opportunity to predict how difficult it will be for miners to “find the next bitcoin block in the chain,” by showcasing the bitcoin price difficulty chart. The price of Bitcoin in Luxor is a price index that is calculated by “taking the volume-weighted average price (VWAP) of Bitcoin price data from multiple exchanges.
