Terra Classic launches the Station, an interchain desktop wallet

The price of Tera Classic (LUC) is rising as the broader crypto market rallies. LUNC’s surge could also be due to the release of Station, a cross-chain desktop wallet.

On Twitter, Jared, the Development Director at Terraform Labs, shared the details of the partnership, saying the station forms the foundation for a “multi-chain” future ushering in an era of easy staking and managing crypto assets. As a non-custodial wallet, Station allows users full control of their assets while allowing coin holders to vote through the Governance Hub.

What’s in it for users?

According to Jared, the station will soon be expanded to include other channels in addition to Osmosis, Juno, Kujira, Carbon, HuaHua and Crescent.

By February, Station plans to support ten more networks, including Regen, Cosmos Hub, and Stargaze. However, they indicated that once a blockchain is supported, platform developers must integrate the Station extension. The station’s developers say this is because “each channel is unique and has its own set of technical parameters.”

LUNC mobilizes

At spot rates, the LUNC price is relatively firm. Notably, the price expansion follows the team’s January 10 announcement of what they describe as a “breakthrough in channel integrations.”

The most recent improvement is part of an ongoing effort by the community to revive the project after last year’s failure. Developers working on the DeFi platform will now have easier access to oracle data from supported chains as the Interchain station is interoperable.

Late last year, KuCoin, a cryptocurrency exchange operating a Terra Classic network validator node, delegated 48 billion LUNCs without any explanation. With this decision, KuCoin’s voting power was reduced to approximately 0.21%.

This news was a significant setback for the Terra Classic network. The LUNC community responded by voting and approving new governance procedures for the benefit of the entire network. Concerns expressed by community members led to the implementation of these adjustments.
