Maller’s announcement also states, From Cash App to a node over Tor. If it can make a Lightning payment, you can use it. This means the integration allows Clover merchants to accept Lightning payments from any service.

However, this integration is not yet available for all Clover merchants. A trial is currently underway and monitored. The results will guide the further integration of Strike into the Clover App Store and then directly into Clover. At this point, Lightning will become a default option for Clover merchants, putting it on par with Visa and MasterCard.

In Maller’s words,

To be clear, this does not automatically activate all Clover merchants at this time. Today, January 26, 2023, our 90-day pilot period begins. Over the next 90 days, we’ll measure settlement speed + cost against other networks and track the new business Lightning brings to merchants who activate it.

The Lightning Network is an open, instant, inexpensive, inclusive and innovative payment network. Therefore, it makes sense for Fiserv to partner with Strike to make payments easier for its customers.
