But his attorney says that should change.

On Saturday, a lawyer for Bankman-Fried asked a federal judge to lift the financial restrictions imposed on his client, according to court documents seen by Insider.

“Nearly three weeks have passed since the first pre-trial conference and we suspect that the government investigation has confirmed what Mr. Bankman-Fried has always said, which is that he did not access these assets. and did not transfer any,” attorney Mark Cohen wrote in the filing. “Since the only basis put forward for requesting this condition has not been substantiated, we believe that the bail condition imposed at the conference should be removed.”

The court barred Bankman-Fried from “accessing or transferring any FTX or Alameda assets or cryptocurrencies” on Jan. 3 at the request of the government, which noted that “certain crypto assets in digital wallets owned by Alameda had recently been consulted and transferred”. says the file.

“The government acknowledged in court that it had no evidence that Mr. Bankman-Fried was responsible, and Mr. Bankman-Fried has repeatedly denied any involvement in the transfers,” Cohen wrote in the letter.

SBF’s lawyer also offered that he have unlimited contact with his father, his therapist and any foreign regulators who contact him.
