9-year-old Henry takes BTC to class

The efforts of a nine-year-old boy show that Bitcoin (BTC) is for everyone and that Bitcoin education is for all ages.

Henry, who lives in the UK, lectured his classmates on bitcoin in an engaging and fun presentation. Cointelegraph spoke to Henry’s mother, an author and bitcoin advocate who goes by Decentrasuze on social media, to find out more.

Decentrasuze, or simply Susie, explained that Henry gave the lecture to his classmates to help them learn more about a subject he finds fascinating, probably because his mom and dad are Bitcoin-loving:

Henry is surrounded by Bitcoin. His dad and I talk about it all the time. There are always Bitcoin podcasts playing in the background, and Henry often asks questions like “How does bitcoin go up and down?”

A curious and inquisitive child, Henry “unscrewed his bed at the age of 18 months to see what was inside, so naturally he asks a lot of questions. But while the children in Henry’s class lectured on coding or space, Henry opted for bitcoin.

The conference was a success, Susie explained: He was buzzing when he came out; very happy. His classmates liked it because it was funny. The presentation is an original example of Bitcoin’s growing popularity and understanding among younger generations.

Henry’s bitcoin blinged cat, Molly.

Henry had included a gif of his cat called Molly as well as photos of him dressed as a gangster to amuse his classmates to demonstrate that Bitcoin is not for criminals.

However, did Henry manage to get his classmates talking about Bitcoin? Susie said that when he asked her son how it went, Henry replied:

I do not really know. You never really know with children!

Henry will be reassured by the efforts of organizations such as My First Bitcoin, the El Salvador-based children’s education program, or even the Bitcoin toys, books, and games available to help children learn about money and Bitcoin.

Unfortunately, and despite Henry’s best efforts, his friend Willliam said he might be interested in Dogecoin (DOGE). William joins Elon Musk in supporting the crypto token which was coded for fun but still pumps every time multi-billionaire Musk mentions the meme in his tweets.

As for Henry, he doesn’t have a phone, so he can’t stack sats yet (save in Bitcoin). Her older sister has a Wallet of Satoshi account, but the only place she can spend sats is at her father’s osteopath, Susie joked.

The osteopathy practice is one of the few places that accept Bitcoin in the Chelmsford area, as listed on BTCMap.org. Nonetheless, more and more traders are joining the network as the UK slowly warms to decentralized currency.

Henry’s professor shared encouraging comments on his presentation, and now there is discussion about whether Henry could deliver the Bitcoin talk to the year above, a real test of his skills.

The teacher even left an encouraging note saying that Decentrasuze should be very proud of her son’s activities. Judging by the reaction of Bitcoin communities on Twitter, they are too.
