DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Media OutReach – March 6, 2023 – Bybit, the third most visited crypto exchange in the world, is proud to announce the launch of Bybit Card, a debit card powered by the Mastercard network, issued by Moorwand. This card will allow users to move out of crypto into the fiat world to make purchases or easily withdraw cash from ATMs.
Bybit Card will allow users to bypass middlemen and other exit providers and directly debit their crypto balances to pay for goods and services. It will be available to customers from eligible countries in Europe and the UK who have completed the necessary KYC and AML procedures.
Initially, Bybit Card will be available for a selection of top-tier cryptocurrencies, namely BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, and XRP. Payout requests will automatically convert the balances of these digital assets to EUR or GBP, depending on the customer’s country of residence.
Bybit today launched its free virtual card enabling online purchases, with a physical card slated for launch in April. The plastic cards will be sent directly to customers and will allow them to access ATM withdrawals as well as spend at merchants around the world with aggregate spending limits in the currencies held in their Bybit account.
“Bybit users will be able to access and manage their funds faster, more securely and more conveniently,” said Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit. “By launching Bybit Card, we are creating a complete 360-degree journey for our users, delivering next-level reliability, products and opportunities. We believe these innovative payment solutions will improve people’s lives and be a step towards a brighter future for crypto and finance.”
Christian Rau, Senior Vice President, Fintech and Crypto, Mastercard Europe added: “Mastercard enables customers, merchants and businesses to move digital value — traditional or crypto — however they choose, with the certainty that they are doing so in completely safe. With launches like this, we’re excited to continue innovating in payments by making digital assets more accessible across the ecosystem.”
