Crypto Price Today: Bitcoin Surpasses $27,500; Shiba Inu, Polygon shed up to 5%

New Delhi: Cryptocurrency markets were trading mixed on Monday. Bitcoin, Solana and BNB gained, while Ethereum, Polygon and Shiba Inu traded with cuts.

“BTC briefly surged above $28,000 on Monday as the collapse of US banks like SVB and Signature reignited the debate over the importance of DeFi and digital assets. Bitcoin is set to test $30,000 very soon but could face some resistance at this level. The FOMC meeting this week will be a major factor in moving the market forward,” said Shivam Thakral, CEO of BuyUcoin.

Edul Patel, co-founder and CEO of Mudrex, said, “With instability in the banking sector, inflation data that beat expectations, and renewed optimism about a dovish Federal Reserve, Bitcoin has reached highs. never seen for about nine months.”

Bitcoin (BTC) rose 1.10% to hit $27,519, while Ethereum (ETH) was above the $1,750 level. The global cryptocurrency market capitalization traded around $1.16 trillion, up 0.13% in the past 24 hours.

Total DeFi volume is currently 6.67 billion, or 9.30% of the total 24-hour crypto market volume. The volume of all stablecoins stood at $61.89 billion, or 86.26% of the total 24-hour crypto market volume.

BTC volume in the past 24 hours was around $41.76 billion, up 29.55%. Bitcoin’s market capitalization was around $531.77 billion. Its dominance is currently at 45.90%, an increase of 0.48% on the day, according to CoinMarketCap.
