Maybe the crypto winter is over and we are entering a crypto autumn? Bitcoin is doing much better today than it was in May 2022 when the crypto market started crashing, and the coin was trading at around $29,000. In June 2022, Bitcoin fell below $20,000 for the first time since 2020. Still, we’ve seen Bitcoin hold between $45,000 and $50,000, generally, and we can’t forget when the coin hit a high. record high of $68,000 in November 2021.
Ethereum’s trajectory has been rocky for several reasons, including its big network merger that happened last fall. At its peak in November 2021, Ethereum was trading at $4,815. The crypto quickly dropped to $1,083 in November 2022 before experiencing a slight rally in December. The Ethereum network is gearing up for another upgrade called Shanghai on Wednesday which will complete the network’s transition from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake.
Bitcoin and Ethereum usually bounce together, so seeing both of them rise in value at the same time this year should come as no surprise. Analysts predict that both cryptocurrencies will continue to rise in the coming months, but we all know that crypto trends have a mind of their own.
