After doing moderately well in April, despite all of the FOMO and regulatory fears, Bitcoin entered May with its head down, falling more than 5% in the first half on Monday, May 1.
For the past six weeks or so, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization has struggled to break above the $30,000 resistance range despite showing great strength during the first week of April, as this price has been trapped in tight pressure.
Various market experts have attempted to project Bitcoin’s behavior this month, even as cryptocurrency fundamentals continue to improve. According to veteran market analyst Peter Brandt, Bitcoin currently sits at an enormous level of importance. On Saturday, Brandt noted that the price had reached the upper band of a range pattern, stating that a decisive breakout of a particular range could have a significant impact on Bitcoin’s future.
According to Brandt, the current range pattern suggests that there is a certain price level that Bitcoin has struggled to break above over the past two years. However, if Bitcoin breaks above this level, it could signal a major shift in the market.
The containment range has been in place for some time now, but a decisive breakout would have enormous significance, he said, adding: My bias is that Bitcoin will eventually bury all suitors. There will only be one King of the Hill, and that will be Bitcoin.
And Brandt is not alone in his analysis. Caleb Franzen, research analyst at Cubic Analytics, also noted that Bitcoin needs to break out decisively or be thrown out of its current range before major decisions can be made.
People are predicting Bitcoin dominance will skyrocket. Here’s my take: I don’t know yet because we haven’t seen any breakouts or breakouts on this range. Once we have clarified this major resistance level, I will listen to what the market is telling me, Franzen tweeted on Sunday.
Today, crypto guru Titan of Crypto shared a Bitcoin % Dominance chart, forming a W monthly bullish pattern. According to him, the pattern suggests that dominance may break out of the range soon. He further noted that if the April monthly candle closes above the range (which it has), Bitcoin dominance may increase, following the price. He warned, however, that at the start of the Bitcoin season, the alts might suffer a bit.
Meanwhile, at the start of the week, some analysts expect Bitcoin to weaken further due to the upcoming Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on Wednesday, which will likely raise interest rates by 25 basis points. .
At press time, Bitcoin was trading at $28,110, down 4.45% in the past 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
