Crypto company rounds up Rust engineers for new project

The crypto market may be less excited about specialized languages ​​like solidity these days, but there are still a few niche languages ​​they still want to hire for. In the case of fintech unicorn Crypto.com, the language is Rust.

Crypto.com currently has 11 separate rosters of rust engineers to work on a new project in places like Hong Kong, Singapore, and London.

The company is sparing the details of the project itself, but among the experience requirements it asks that engineers have “hands-on experience using basic cryptographic primitives, digital signatures, key exchange, symmetric and asymmetric encryption and understanding consensus algorithms”.

Beyond the project itself, engineers will also be asked “to improve the technology stack for long-term engineering initiatives.”

According to Levels.fyi, the average total compensation for Crypto.com in 2023 is $83.6k. However, a survey of Web3 developers estimates that Rust engineers earn an average of $120,000, which means these engineers could see their salary slightly above the norm.
