Crypto Exchange Coinbase (COIN) Officially Opens Subscription Service, Expands Reach Outside US

Crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN) has pulled its free subscription service Coinbase One from beta testing and expanded it from the US only to also include the UK, Germany and Ireland.

For $29.99 per month, customers pay no trading fees and also get higher staking rewards, according to a Thursday release. The service had been in beta testing since 2021.

Coinbase aims to further expand its international reach, with plans to offer Coinbase One in 35 countries, according to an email from the company to CoinDesk. It comes after CEO Brian Armstrong indicated last month that Coinbase would consider leaving the US if the regulatory environment did not become clearer.

Coinbase One will offer pre-filed tax filings to US customers, access to Messari insights and analytics via a Pro account, and a six-month free trial for CoinTracker’s personal crypto portfolio analysis.

“In total, Coinbase One is present in 35 countries (mainly in Europe) – in these other countries, Coinbase One will be fully available in the coming months, and we plan to expand to other markets internationally”, added the email.
