In a revelation that surprised many in the crypto community, prominent cryptocurrency lawyer and XRP advocate John Deaton took to social media to discuss his personal portfolio of digital assets.
In a tweet quoting his photo at the XRP Las Vegas 2023 event, Deaton candidly revealed the heavyweight of his investments in Bitcoin (BTC) digital assets. This statement is quite surprising, given Deatons public advocacy for XRP.
Diversified Crypto Portfolio: A Cautious Path
Deaton’s cheeky tweet reads:
I have standing to make this comment because my BTC investment far exceeds my XRP investment (my XRP family ignores this and forgives me).
His statements brought a dose of humor, demonstrating the broad-minded approach he and the XRP community maintain despite their substantial support for the token. The lawyer was quick to praise the XRP community, calling it the brightest, most knowledgeable, and most passionate crypto community. It is this diversification of his crypto portfolio that underscores the versatility of Deatons’ investment strategy and his belief in the potential of the crypto industry.
XRP Market Outlook: A Dance With The Bulls?
Meanwhile, the XRP market has been choppy. Between May 16 and 19, XRP rallied 13% but faced resistance at $0.469. After topping the 20-day EMA ($0.45) on May 18, a resurgence of bullish momentum appears to be in play, reducing selling pressure as indicated by the 20-day EMA and RSI in positive territory.
However, a formidable resistance zone awaits us, sandwiched between the downtrend line and the 50-day SMA, which is $0.48. A successful breach could propel the price of XRP towards $0.54. Conversely, if the price pulls back from its current level, the bearish influence could assert itself, potentially causing the price to stagnate between the 50-day SMA and $0.40.
XRP was worth $0.468 at the time of writing this article.
