Bitcoin Antminer spotted completely submerged in chilled oil at Computex 2023

Computex 2023 is off to a great start and as the showroom floor is flooded with PC gaming hardware, we spotted a rather unique cryptocurrency mining rig.

While cryptocurrency has certainly taken a downward turn since Bitcoin’s price crashed, there are still some interesting products out there from various companies. One such company is Engineered Fluids, who showed us their custom cooling solution for a Bitmain Antminer S19 90T.

As seen in the image above, the Antminer has been completely submerged in oil which is then filtered through a cooling unit. The cooled oil keeps the system operating at lower temperatures, allowing for better performance and therefore a higher hash rate.

Specifically, Engineered Fluids overclocked the Antminer, hitting a whopping 96537.12 GH/s. If you are familiar with Antminers you will know that when turned on and mined they produce an amount of piercing sound. Engineered Fluids has solved this problem with its oil cooling solution which significantly reduces the amount of sound produced.

When I stood next to the submerged Antminer, I could barely hear it. The only thing I could hear was the cooling unit pump, which was pretty minimal. All in all, Engineered Fluids has created a very interesting solution to one of Antminer’s biggest problems.
